“Visited with our two small children (age 1 & 2). Everything about our trip was top notch from initial communications with Louise to the rest of our stay. Fantastic property kitted out to a high specification in a beautiful secluded location – a perfect central base for exploring all the sites of Cornwall. Lots of special personal touches that made our stay extra special including little gifts for our kids. Louise is a warm and welcoming host, more than happy to answer questions and give advice about the area, and her signature hand soap and shower products smell amazing!”

“The Bull Pen is a stunning conversion of an old barn with lots of character, whilst providing all the modern facilities any one needs. It was spotlessly clean but also very comfortable with a homely feel. The private garden area is lovely to sit in. We were attracted to it because of the isolated location and it didn’t disappoint. The drive entrance is off a main road with good transport connections but the drive itself is long and winding (but well maintained) and opens out into fields and then the property comes into view. Piece and quiet with only a few other properties along the drive. Louise was a great host who welcomed us and made us feel at home and very welcome.”

“We (a family of four, children 8 & 5) absolutely loved staying at Louise’s place. The accommodation is excellent, very clean and basics are very well provided. Louise is fantastic at communication before – especially in giving very clear directions to access the property, and during our stay. The house is both historical and modern. The history dates from its previous uses, descriptions of which are included in the comprehensive folder of local attractions in the house. But, the moderness is from the obviously recent internal makeover that makes this space special. Two bedrooms with their own bathrooms, a fully appointed kitchen/dining area and super comfortable couches in the living area. Outside is a garden area and a BBQ. We didn’t use this, but I can imagine long summer evenings sitting outside eating and enjoying the setting. Louise was a fantastic host. We stayed as we waited for flights home in the covid crisis. Louise took all of this in her stride and ensured that despite the stress, our stay was stress free and enjoyable. I would highly suggest a rental car as the place is a fair walk from the closest railway station. However, it is well situated to explore Cornwall. Driving to the north or south coast is not far, and walks on Bodmin moor are also close by. We would have loved to stay longer – in different circumstances, but I would recommend Louise’s place to couples and families who want a great stay in Cornwall with easy (car) access to all that the Duchy has to offer.”

“Fantastic property, brilliantly located for sightseeing both North and South Cornwall coast and the magnificent Bodmin Moor. Louise and family have created a beautiful space to relax and unwind, superbly decorated and spotless. We loved the absolute peace and quiet and knowing we were just a matter of minutes away from shopping and amenities. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.”

“We had a fantastic stay at The Bull Pen. Louise and Alasdair were incredibly accommodating, and really lovely to deal with. We were greeted with home made bread, lemon drizzle cake, milk and fresh eggs from their chickens. We arrived late at night and it wasn’t an issue at all, and they even let us have a late check out so it would make life easier with the kids. As I say they were very accommodating. The accommodation itself is not done justice by the pictures. The renovation they have completed is really tasteful and to a high standard. The setting is so peaceful and we appreciated the chance to get away from it all. Louise communicated quickly from the moment we booked, and recommended some really good local things for us to do. One particular thing was our 6 yr old daughter wanted to horse ride and actually ended up on a 2 day camp at the stables recommended. Louise even provided some wellies and waterproofs for her to wear (unfortunately we weren’t blessed with the best weather those days). I can’t recommend The Bull Pen enough if you want a place to relax in peace and quiet, but be accessible to all that Cornwall has to offer. The hosts were an added bonus.”

“Had such a wonderful stay at the Bull pen, highly recommended, the photos don’t do the place justice, it’s decorated and furnished to such a high standard and our family including young son felt very at home and catered for. The hosts couldn’t be more helpful and touches like fresh flowers around the house and freshly baked bread (still warm) made our visit even more special. We will definitely return and will be recommending to friends, great location for visiting both North and South Cornwall.”

“We really enjoyed our time at the Bull Pen. It was beautifully placed to provide access to both the north and south coasts. The setting was perfect for us. The Bull Pen was completely clean and the faculties were first class. The touch of fresh bread, milk, butter and fruit there on our arrival was just great. We would recommend the Bull Pen to anyone.”

“Thoroughly recommended! Glynn Bull Pen lies in a secluded spot, surrounded by fields and woodland, yet the main road lies at the end of the long drive so its perfect for quick, easy access elsewhere. Louise is a great host, offering a friendly welcome, good local tips and some kind touches, including lovely homemade bread on arrival and a bottle of fizz in the fridge! The accommodation is beautifully clean, well-appointed and very comfortable, ideal for a family of four or two couples. We hope to visit again, soon.”

“Our stay at the Glynn Bull Pen exceeded expectation, Louise was lovely and an excellent communicator from start to finish. It was so lovely to be greeted with warm home made bread, fruit, milk and butter. The barn has been renovated to a very high standard and was immaculate inside and out, the space was relaxing and peaceful. Louise allowed us to check in earlier than expected and offered a late checkout too. I highly recommend Louise’s Bull Pen, the location is ideal for exploring both the North and South, we cannot wait to return. Thank you!”

“The Bull Pen is a fabulous property – what a stunning hi-spec conversion from an old farm building and in such a lovely secluded setting. Louise and Alasdair were great hosts – very helpful, thoughtful and responsive. It was so kind to provide a generous welcome pack and we loved the fresh flowers that brought spring into the house. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay to anyone else and would love to visit again with family or friends.”

“We loved our stay here. The Bull Pen is secluded and quiet, everything you would want from a countryside retreat including friendly squirrels ! The Bull Pen is immaculate, ,clean and stylish, with everything we could have needed. We felt safe here, it was the perfect place to stay during these unprecedented times. Louise was full of helpful information about local places to visit and directions for lesser known places. She was very responsive and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, she even left little gifts for my children which was a wonderful touch. We would highly recommend the bull pen”
